The first batch of Final Fantasy Pixel Remasters arrives later this month

Square Enix has announced it will be releasing Final Fantasy I, II and III on mobile and Steam later this month. You can expect this first batch of the Pixel Remasters to launch on 28th July on the iOS and Android mobile stores.

These new versions of the games aim to be closer matches to the originals that appeared back in the 80s and 90s. Announced during Square Enix Presents at E3, they’re basically the same game as the classic 2D Final Fantasy games except with some subtle upgrades and sharper graphics.

Hearthstone will release a new expansion next month titled United in Stormwind

Blizzard has announced a new expansion for its popular card game Hearthstone to be released on 3rd August.

The new expansion is called United in Stormwind and it brings 135 all-new cards to the game inspired by the titular gleaming city. These new cards include new Questline cards for Hearthstone that provide a look into the backstories of each mercenary character that was introduced earlier this year.

Tencent hasn’t forgotten about Don’t Starve: Newhome, new story trailer revealed

Tencent and Shenqu Games has released a new trailer for its upcoming Don’t Starve: Newhome, the mobile spin-off to Klei’s popular Don’t Starve series. The game is slated for release on iOS and Android at some point in the future.

The two developers have kept details on Don’t Starve: Newhome to a bare minimum until now. The new trailer explains the premise of the game but doesn’t show us any new gameplay yet. If you’re a fan of its strange art style though, as I am, then it’s a good idea to check it out below.

Call of Duty Mobile launches Season Five, adding new operators, maps, modes, and more

Activision is launching the newest season for Call of Duty Mobile this week, bringing it with a whole plethora of new content for you to enjoy. The new update is available now for iOS and Android.

The newest season for Call of Duty Mobile is called In Deep Water and, as implied, is aquatic-themed. It has a new Battle Pass, maps, weapons, operators, game modes and much more.

Game Dev Story+ is a new business management game out now on Apple Arcade

Kairosoft has launched a new version of its classic business management sim Game Dev Story for iOS devices. It is available to play on either iPhone or iPad if you have an active Apple Arcade subscription.

This updated version of the game is called Game Dev Story+, and in it you’ll be tasked with creating bestselling video games using a highly specialised team of developers and managers to make that reality come true.

Horizon Chase Mobile gets new Walker-X DLC

Brazilian developer Aquiris has released a new Walker-X DLC for its mobile racing game Horizon Chase Mobile. The DLC is available now for iOS and Android devices.

This DLC for Horizon Chase Mobile ups the ante for its fierce and fast street racing with the new Walker-X vehicle which is now available to use in-game. Additionally, four new unlockable skins and eight heart-stopping remixed tracks are also included. These skins will allow you to pimp your ride in a bunch of new ways, allowing you to be the centre of attention on the road to ultimate street racing victory.

Square Enix is remastering the first six Final Fantasy games on mobile

Square Enix is going to be releasing remasters of the first six Final Fantasy games for both Steam and mobile storefronts.

Each release is going to be part of the Final Fantasy Pixel Remaster collection, containing each game from Final Fantasy I all the way through to Final Fantasy VI. This part of the series is collectively known as the 2D era, released between 1987 and 1994, before the games switched to 3D with Final Fantasy VII.

Square Enix opens up pre-registration for NieR Reincarnation on iOS and Android

If you’re looking forward to the upcoming NieR Reincarnation, pre-registration has now begun for it worldwide. The game will be coming later this year on iOS and Android.

NieR Reincarnation is the latest game set in the same world as NieR and NieR Automata (which was also a spin-off of Yoko Taro’s earlier Drakengard series). In it, you play as the Girl in White, who is journeying through this world with the strange entity known as Mama trying to unlock her memories.

Angry Birds Slingshot Stories returning for another season next week

Rovio has announced it will be launching a second season of Angry Birds Slingshot Stories on 19th June.

Slingshot Stories is a series of videos that provide a unique behind-the-scenes look at what the characters of the Angry Birds games get up to when they’re not pummelling trebuchets at each other. The series is produced by India-based animation studio Cosmos-Maya in partnership with Rovio.

Guild of Dungeoneering is a DnD-style deckbuilder coming to PC and mobile later this year

During the Guerilla Collective digital games festival on Saturday, Gambrinous announced it will be launching a major remaster for its tabletop-inspired RPG Guild of Dungeoneering. The remaster is supposed to be coming to both PC and mobile devices.

This version of the game is called Guild of Dungeoneering Ultimate Edition, and it packages the entire game and DLC along with new quests, monsters, classes, weapons and loot.

Memory Stamps is a new memory puzzler out now on mobile

Indie game developer Tepes Ovidiu has released a new puzzle title called Memory Stamps for iOS and Android devices.

It is a puzzle game where you must memorise different illustrated stamps before they’re removed and you must place them in the correct spots. The game is designed to be a relaxing experience, with meditative zen-like qualities, and uses proven methods used to enhance visual memory while you relax.

Duskwood’s latest update introduces new episode and more language options

Everbyte has released an update for Duskwood, the interactive crime thriller you play on your mobile phone, that introduces a new episode and some other quality-of-life improvements. The update is available now for both iOS and Android devices.

The new episode is now the eighth in the game, with each one being added every couple of months to advance the story and provide answers to some questions while also raising some new concerns. You check out the teaser for Episode 8 below to get a glimpse at some of the footage featured.

Price of Power expansion set coming to Gwent in June

CD Projekt Red has announced it will be releasing an expansion set for Gwent: The Witcher Card Game on 8th June. It’s called Price of Power and will be available on all platforms.

Gwent has released new card sets before, but this will be the first time an expansion set is released for the card game based on The Witcher series. Price of Power includes three expansions, each one introducing new cards and mechanics to the game, with each expansion being released in waves over a short period of time.

Hatoful Boyfriend will be delisted from mobile stores at the end of May

Hato Moa has revealed on Twitter that Hatoful Boyfriend, the romance visual novel about pigeons, will be delisted from iOS and Android at the end of the month.

This means that anyone who wishes to buy Hatoful Boyfriend after the end of May will be unable to do so, but anyone who already owns it will still be able to play it even after it gets removed from the App Store and Google Play. In any case, if you wish to play the game on your mobile phone any time soon, you should consider getting it now.

Larian Studios brings Divinity: Original Sin 2 to iPad devices

Larian Studios, the team behind the award-winning RPG Divinity: Original Sin 2, is releasing the game for iPad devices today. From today you’ll be able to play the game on your iPad or iPad Pro.

This port of the game was handled by Saint Petersburg-based studio Elverils, which spent two years rebuilding it from the ground up to create an iOS version of the game that is on par with the one seen on PC and consoles.
