Nuts is a squirrel adventure game coming to Apple Arcade on Friday

Noodlecake’s Nuts is a lo-fi photography game about surveying and documenting the secret lives of squirrels. It’s coming to Apple Arcade this Friday, 22nd January, with a further release coming later on PC and Nintendo Switch.

In Nuts, you play as a novice field researcher who places cameras to capture footage during the day and watches the footage later at night. You have to place the cameras in suitable locations, searching for a place to give you the best footage, and through trial and error you’ll gradually come to work out how the best way to do this is.

Super JetPak DX’s physical preorders still up for two more weeks

The physical cartridge edition of Pocket Pixel Design’s Super JetPak DX is still available to preorder and will be until 31st January, with the game launching later this year on the Nintendo Game Boy.

In Super JetPak DX, you play as a lonely astronaut who is lost on various alien worlds across the galaxy, and must get home by moving around in a jetpack while avoiding being killed by the different hazards each planet holds. You collect different components in your shuttle and use it to fly away to new worlds, hopefully hopping enough times to make it home. You also must contend with hostile aliens and the hazardous environment as well.

Erica, the PS4-exclusive FMV thriller, coming to iOS this week

London-based studio Flavourworks is bringing its FMV game Erica to iOS on Friday as a free trial, with a full release presumably following later. This is the second platform the game has launched on after its original release on PlayStation 4 two years ago.

Erica is an interactive fiction FMV thriller where you play as a young woman named Erica, played by Holly Earl, who goes on an expedition to uncover her family’s dark history. As with many games of this genre, you’ll also be making choices at critical parts of the story that branch off, creating different outcomes depending on the decisions you make.

Cute simulation game Dinosaur Park: Primeval Zoo is coming to Android next month

Dinosaur Park: Primeval Zoo is a cute zoo simulation game from upjers, and it sounds perfect for anyone who’s a dinosaur fan. It’s coming to Android in February, and is available right now for pre-registration.

In Dinosaur Park: Primeval Zoo you manage, well, a dinosaur zoo. An expedition to the South Pole has resulted in a discovery of ancient dinosaurs that are still alive and preserved beneath the ice, and so you open up a park for visitors to come and see them to help fund your research.

Teppen gets a new The Battle of Amatsu no Kuni expansion

Capcom’s Teppen has had a new expansion called The Battle of Amatsu no Kuni added to the game, introducing Oichi The Demon Queen as well as more cards and abilities for you to choose from.

This new expansion crosses over with Capcom’s Sengoku Basara franchise, and introduces cards for Light Army commander Tokugawa Ieyasu and Dark Army commander Ishida Mitsunari, as well as Oichi, a hero from the series. She’s a widow suppressing her anguish and has eventually found herself in Amatsu no Kuni. She eventually meets a false priestess who uses her influence to turn Oichi into a demon queen by having her surrender to the abyss.

SpongeBob SquarePants: Battle for Bikini Bottom Rehydrated coming to mobile later this month

Publisher HandyGames and developer Purple Lamp Studios is bringing SpongeBob SquarePants: Battle for Bikini Bottom Rehydrated to iOS and Android devices on 21st January.

It’s a 3D platformer based on the popular children’s cartoon, SpongeBob SquarePants, as well as a remake of the original Battle for Bikini Bottom which released on GameCube, Xbox and PlayStation 2 back in 2003. THQ Nordic released this remake last year on PC, Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch.

Xenon Moon is a sci-fi adventure game out now for iOS and Android

After three years of development, Daily Digital Games has released a new 3D sci-fi adventure game called Xenon Moon on iOS and Android devices.

It’s a challenging game where you explore a world, mine its minerals, and use the materials to craft and upgrade various items and equipment. There’s also puzzles you will have to solve to progress as well as combat scenarios for when the going gets tough.

Hellopet House gets a Christmas update, introducing new pets and more

Hellopet House by Appxplore has received a big content update to coincide with the upcoming Christmas holidays, adding three new pets to the game and new winter ornaments to decorate your house with.

The three new pets include a leopard-spotted Bengal cat, a stubby bulldog and, aptly, a reindeer. It’s the game’s first pet that isn’t a dog or cat, while also remaining part of the game’s festive flavour. This new arrival to Hellopet House also has a nose which lights up, which sounds like everyone’s favourite helper of Santa Claus.

Siege Castles is a tower defence strategy out now for mobile

Plug In Digital and PHZ Game Studios has released Siege Castle worldwide for iOS and Android devices.

It’s a strategy game where you design and build your own castles before you engage in sieges using automated physics-based battles. Once you’ve decided how your castle is built, including its defense and offence abilities, you need to choose what tactic you’ll employ when attacking your opponent by selecting from a range of siege weapons including ballistas, cannons, catapults, and of course, trebuchets.

Human: Fall Flat’s mobile version adds two new user-created levels

Human: Fall Flat has had two new levels added to the iOS and Android versions of the game today.

The first is called Thermal, a level created by Manuel “Swiety Krab” Nowak which has you stumbling through snowy peaks before reaching deep underground caverns which are brimming with gold. You can play with up to three friends online by interacting with the giant mining machines to help navigate the various caverns.

Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic II is coming to iOS and Android later this month

Aspyr and Lucasfilm is bringing the classic Obsidian RPG Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic II to iOS and Android devices on 18th December.

Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic II is, as you may guess, a Star Wars game. It’s set several thousand years before the events of the films take place, and five years after the first KOTOR title where you play as a lone Jedi who must reconnect with the Force to regain their strength and survive the impending extinction of the order.

Equestriad World Tour is out of Early Access as it launches on Android

GoGallop Studios has released Equestriad World Tour on Android after being in a state of Early Access earlier this year.

The game has you immersed in the world if equestrian care and competition. You raise different horses and train them in three different disciplines: jumping, cross-country and dressage, which can be done in a solo career mode or as part of a team. You can customise your horses’ looks too by using the game’s Tack Shop before you participate in the various contests the game has.

Spider-Ham is coming to Marvel Contest of Champions

Marvel Contest of Champions is getting a new character added to its growing roster of masked superheroes.This time it’s Spider-Ham, also going by the name of Peter Porker, who will be joining the game later this month.

Originally created for the Marvel Comics series in 1983, Spider-Ham is an anthropomorphic animal character which served as a parody of Spider-Man, however he didn’t really hit mainstream appeal until he was a major character voiced by American comedian John Mulaney in the 2018 film Spider-Man: Into the Spiderverse.

LifeAfter’s Resident Evil crossover has returned with new skins, levels, and more

LifeAfter’s Resident Evil crossover event is back for phase two after it successfully held an earlier collaboration earlier this year in August.

NetEase Games has kicked off phase two of the LifeAfter x Resident Evil event, which saw characters from the popular Capcom series appear within the framework of the familiar LifeAfter post-apocalypse survival gameplay. The event will last from this Thursday, 3rd December, and run until 17th December.

Lara Croft returns in Tomb Raider Reloaded, headed for mobile in 2021

Square Enix has unveiled the next entry in the Tomb Raider series, this time headed for mobile platforms sometime in 2021.

Tomb Raider Reloaded sees the return of iconic video game legend Lara Croft as she explores lost ruins, battles wild animals and solves extravagant puzzles. The game will be a free to play action arcade title developed between Square Enix London and Emerald City Games.
