During the Guerilla Collective digital games festival on Saturday, Gambrinous announced it will be launching a major remaster for its tabletop-inspired RPG Guild of Dungeoneering. The remaster is supposed to be coming to both PC and mobile devices.

This version of the game is called Guild of Dungeoneering Ultimate Edition, and it packages the entire game and DLC along with new quests, monsters, classes, weapons and loot.

“Starting as a game jam entry in 2013, it’s a miracle the original Guild of Dungeoneering is as good as it is,” says Colm Larkin from Gambrinous. “Ultimate Edition is our chance to delve back into the dungeon - armed with everything we know now - and make the game truly shine. We’ve fully rebuilt Guild of Dungeoneering in a new engine, tweaked and rebalanced every system and then added a whole load of new content to top it off.”

Gambrinous is comprised of Larkin and Fred Mangan, two developers from Dublin, Ireland. The studio makes games that celebrate the marvels of tabletop and board gaming with releases such as Guild of Dungeoneering and Cardpocalypse.

If you’re unaware of what exactly Guild of Dungeoneering is, it’s a turn-based dungeon crawler with a twist: instead of controlling the hero, you instead use cards to build the dungeon around them. Each of the cards in your deck gives you a variety of different tools to lay down, such as rooms, traps, monsters and loot.

It’s presented in a traditional pen-and-paper visual style, inspired by Dungeons and Dragons and other classic tabletop games the developers grew up with.

Guild of Dungeoneering Ultimate Edition will be available on the iOS App Store and the Google Play for Android store alongside its PC release later this year.
