Pack a magnifying glass and practice your gotcha catchphrase as Torchlight: Infinite casts players as a detective

Somehow it has already been a year since Torchlight: Infinite launched, and XD Games is celebrating by blending in what sounds like a truly fantastic new update. Fans of Cthulhu rejoice, as Whispering Mist brings some horror elements, and tests the limit of your Sainty.

You will need to don your Deerstalker and channel your inner Columbo, as you go from slayer of gods to Detective. Striking out into the haunting city of Mistville, there are mysteries abound that need solving, but this dark place takes a toll on your sanity. Light the lanterns and discover the truth, but try not to lose yourself doing so.

Of course, if you do encounter so unfathomable Eldritch horror hellbent on eating our face, you can always just electrocute them with our new hero. Cateye Erika can use the power of Ember tech to become the Lightning Shadow, vanquishing foes in the most shocking way.

For those at the endgame looking for a new task, you can now undertake the Divine Might Trails. Collect Divine Might Emblems from the Six Gods, and you will gain entrance to one of Torchlight's most challenging encounters. Luckily, the new season brings a host of new gear and upgrades, and you can always call in reinforcements with the multiplayer updates.

Along with all this new content, XD Games’ little elves have been hard at work tinkering away at quality of life changes. The early main story progression has been streamlined, along with gear drop adjustments to get you to the fun stuff quicker. Automatic triggers and support skills have been added for mobile users, along with reduced screen shake and heightened performances for a better play experience. Hoarders are also looked after, with a streamlined item pickup guaranteed to clog your inventory up in no time at all.
