App Description

The year is 1852. The Crystal Palace Company has moved to Penge and commissions leading scientist of the day, Richard Owen to create life size model dinosaurs for the park, with the aid of artist Benjamin Hawkins.

Listen in to this fun and engaging location-aware audio trail as Owen and Hawkins, along with Crystal Palace designer Joseph Paxton, bring the world's first theme park to life, in what we now know as Crystal Palace Park.

The 0.5 mile (700 metre) long audio trail begins at the eastern end of Lower Lake in Crystal Palace Park, close to the visitor centre and cafe. The paths are well surfaced, and mainly level, although there are gently sloped sections between audio stops 6 & 7 and 9 & 10.

Using the app

Make sure GPS is enabled (on the playlist screen) and then head to point 1 marked. The audio will automatically start playing. Next, put your device away and walk with the dinosaurs!

Please note:

- The app will only automatically trigger audio in the correct order i.e. 1 then 2 then 3.
- Each track will only be triggered by GPS once. Use the reset button to start triggering again.
- You can override automatic playback by using the manual controls.
- When enabled this app makes use of GPS to play audio files related to your current location. Continued use of GPS running in the background can dramatically decrease battery life.
