Card Dungeon, by Playtap Games, has gotten a major overhaul that adds new features and fixes some old bugs.

Playtap has increased the speed of game play by shrinking the max room size and allowing Crusaders to move faster across the map when there are no monsters lurking nearby. Card Dungeon now also saves your game for you after every turn, making it easier to pick up and put down when you need to.

Last but not least, when you beat the boss on each level the dungeon will begin to collapse. You must race to the exit before time runs out.

You can download the newly-updated Card Dungeon for $3.99 on the App Store.

+ Universal App - Designed for iPhone and iPad

Golem Arcana, the point-based army-building board game from Harebrained Schemes - and its accompanying app - are now both available. The app will allow users to connect to the game's figures, board, and cards via a Bluetooth-powered stylus - with a tap on the pieces or the board from the stylus sending information to the app.

The board game challenges players to assemble an army and take on the enemy with their combination of attributes and special actions. The story behind everything begins with the rise and fall of the Great Khan, with the ensuring chaos causing tribes and clans to rise up and take back their sovereignty and empires to reclaim their lost territory and honor. Now the heirs of the Khan are battling to take control of the Gudanna Dominion.

The app manages all the math for the player, meaning players do not have to memorize a complex ruleset. The app will also download new scenarios and will tally the results of every game into the overall conflict, with major developments triggered by the collective results of the players.

The Golem Arcana app is available on the App Store now as a free download, and the board game is $79.99.

iPhone App - Designed for iPhone, compatible with iPad

Hunted Cow Studios has just announced a new partnership with board game publisher Victory Point Games. The new partnership looks to bring digital versions of Victory Point games to iOS.

VPG co-founder Alan Emrich is looking forward to the pairing. "Victory Point Games is a boardgame publisher staffed by many digital game developers,” he says. “That’s why we’re so glad to have found our kindred spirits in the digital game publishing industry who ‘get’ manual-to-digital game translations. We’re very excited to be working together with a great publisher, our new friends at Hunted Cow Studios.”

Hunted Cow marketing chief Craig Withers mentions some of the titles that should be out in the near future. “Everyone at Hunted Cow is incredibly excited to help bring Victory Point Games to a larger audience. At the moment, the first titles we expect to release are the solitaire games Astra Titanus, Dawn of the Zeds, Infection: Humanity's Last Gasp and Legions of Darkness. The opportunity to work directly with a company of their quality doesn’t come along every day, and we look forward to showing our fans what we can accomplish together.”

The new digital versions should arrive soon; Hunted Cow will also be partnering with other studios, such as Hex War Ltd and Criss Cross Games Ltd.

Kick the Tires and Light the Fires, Galaxy Trucker is Coming to iOS Later This Year

Posted by Rob Rich on June 23rd, 2014

Word over at Board Game Geek is that Czech Games Edition has recently announced that work on its iPad port of Galaxy Trucker is almost complete. Kind of.

It's about ready to go now, but the developer would like to spend more time refining the online multiplayer as much as possible - and polish up everything else while they're at it, of course. It's hard to find fault with that logic, especially considering that this multiplayer framework will be used in many of their future releases.

Galaxy Trucker will be coming to the iPad in the beginning of September later this year. A digital version of Through the Ages is also planned.
