Refinery Productions has announced the release of the second major update for their tower defence title 2112TD. It is available for both the iOS and Android versions of the game and is completely free if you already own the game.

The update introduces a plethora of features and changes that were influenced by the player base's requests. First up is the addition of new campaign stages. The Carrier forces have been vanquished. So, the UEDI forces must be rallied to establish a base on the Moon to re-establish comms with the Earth.

Elsewhere, players will now have access to new research upgrades. Turrets can be further improved using the newly added fine tune upgrade, whilst Communications Logistics can now be upgraded to provide quick control over support units.

The developers have streamlined the tutorial, allowing players to jump into the action quicker, whilst TD aficionados can skip it entirely. Meanwhile, additional tooltips have been added to the campaign, allowing players to learn about their enemies as they progress and encounter them.

The developers have tweaked the balance of 2112TD to improve the difficulty in the various game modes. These changes include bonus XP awards, adjusted tech point progression and faster tower construction, among other improvements.

Finally, cloud save support integration is now available for iOS devices. Android support for this feature is expected to arrive in a future update.

2112TD is available now over on the App Store and Google Play. It is a premium title that costs $1.99.
