Today's social media applications expand our ability to maintain an amazing breadth of social connections. However, reliance on social media often leaves key relationships lacking in depth.

The key to deep relationships is consistency. Deep relationships are built over time through the consistent implementation of a thoughtful strategy. Tethers combines a thoughtful strategy with a way to implement it consistently with the help of visual cues from your mobile device.

Create a new tether by adding a contact from your contacts list. Next record an engagement to document a meeting, text, phone call or email. This will turn your Tether from red to green. A tether can be assigned one of three goals: Family, Friend or Acquaintance.

As each tether ages, it will change color from green to lime to amber to red. How fast a tether ages depends on the goal that you assign it. By default, all tethers start out with the Friend goal. Tether will alert you as to the number of red tethers via the Tether app icon. The goal is to keep your tethers from going red!
