Hoping to entice a few users away from the likes of Periscope, Stre.am is a fairly easy to use live video broadcasting app. It’s tough to find too many faults in it, but as is the case with such things it’s going to have a tricky time competing with something that has more established pedigree.
Setup is a matter of the usual entering of details or hooking it up to a social networking account. You can then dive straight into checking out other people’s streams or creating your own. It’s speedy stuff with hardly any buffering issues, which is great for those who just want to check in quickly.
A front page easily shows off the streams currently available, although don’t expect these to be too numerous just yet. I found it a little quiet compared to other services. When you set up your own stream, Stre.am saves it all to your camera roll which is pretty convenient.
Bear in mind though, like with other pretenders Stre.am probably isn’t going to grab people’s attention like Periscope already has. It’s a little faster, but features-wise it’s pretty similar stuff.
