Quote Unquote is similar to a crossword puzzle, but has a novel twist: all of the answers to clues are hidden inside a famous quote. The game is very fun and will definitely appeal to anyone who loves crosswords but wants something a little different.
Each level revolves around a quote. There are clues and the answers can be found in the letters of the quote. Selecting the letters for an answer is done by tapping and dragging a bar beneath the letters. If the letters selected are incorrect, a red arrow appears next to the letters and clue. When all the clues have been solved, bonus clues are unlocked that previously couldn’t be solved. All of the letters will eventually be used to solve the clues.
Gameplay is quite fun because having a quote to find the answers in is a game in itself. The answers are there, but finding them can be complicated. At times the game can be really difficult depending on the quote and clues. There aren’t any hints, so moving on and then coming back later is the only option if the answer isn't apparent. It is nice however, to have a quote that contains the answers instead of like a crossword puzzle where players only have a clue.
The replay value is low for Quote Unquote because after the clues are solved, replaying the same level won’t be a challenge. 24 levels are included for free and other level packs are available for $0.99 in an in-game store. All the levels packs for sale have a theme, such as "Wise Words" and "Funny Stuff". Other level packs like "Love and Lust" and "Fun and Games" are coming soon.
Quote Unquote is a fun and novel game. Finding the answers in famous quotes isn't a gimmick and it’s really unique. Anyone who loves crosswords will enjoy this app for sure.
