Gluddle Review

It's not easy to explain exactly what a Gluddle is, but its somewhere between an eyeball and a bouncy ball. These Gluddles are the heroes and the ammo of sorts for the iOS game of the same name. Gluddle is a physics based puzzle game in which players bounce little Gluddles around each level in order to clear it of enemies. These enemies are called The Supervision and they want to keep the Gluddles in line by monitoring their every move.

Gluddles remove enemies from each level by bouncing into them. Each level starts with a spot from which players can launch their Gluddles and a certain number of Supervision enemies to clear. Players can aim their Gluddles in any direction and then launch them and watch them bounce around the environment until they fall off-screen. When a Gluddle bounces into an enemy, the enemy fall from the screen. Once the level is cleared of enemies it is complete. Players are scored on the time it takes to clear the level and how many Gluddles they have to use to clear it.

Players can alos freeze a Gluddle they have launched in mid-air. Using this mechanic, players can bounce Gluddles off one another and reach places in the level not otherwise accessible. The puzzles are tough, but in most cases it seems like more solution come by trail and error than from clever thinking.

Gluddle is a fun game and it looks great. The cute, bouncy Gluddles come in many shapes and the environments are alien and beautiful. The gameplay can get a bit tired, but trying out different solutions to get things just right can be very entertaining. This is a forgiving physics game so it's great for players who don't want to hassle with super mind bending puzzles. It's not the most serious physics puzzler out there, but it's fun and polished enough to merit a look.
