Dotti Disposable Camera is a very niche app that plays to those who want raw, undedited images straight from the camera to their mailbox.

Dotti Disposable Camera enables mobile photographers to take up to 12 photos on a roll and have them sent to a virtual photo lab for the images to be processed, printed and sent to any address within the US for $4.99 or internationally for $5.99. It's a very barebones app in which it's point, snap and send. No editing, no presets.

For those looking for something simple and to the point then this app is perfect. However, in today's hipster mobile photo community, I feel as if this type of app falls short. For instance, Sincerely developed this app as well as another one called Postagram, which I've used and feel like it's a lot more useful. Of course, I'm a professional photographer and being able to tweak, crop and customize my photos is essential to my creative process.

However, I do applaud Sincerely for trying to get the photos off of our devices and on the fridges or frames of family and friends. To me, there is nothing better than seeing a great capture on the wall rather than on the computer. The feel of the paper, the complexity of the ink and the ability to actually touch the image in one's hand just feels right. Of course, I have thousands of images on my harddrive that have yet to be printed.

I see this app being useful for taking pictures of the kids for grandpa and grandma. The app allows the user to send the images anywhere so being able to snap a few photos every once and a while of the little ones and sending them to the grandparents might be a nice surprise. And sure, emailing the images are great too, but there's just something nostalgic about a real print.

Speaking of nostalgia, the camera actually features most of the buttons, sounds and lights from a disposable camera such as the flash charge, film advance and film winding. The app allows the user to see their film winding via a virtual animation and indicates how many images are left in the roll.

It's tough to recommend an app that doesn't have all of the bells and whistles that most of the photography apps have on the market, but also difficult to compare Dotti Disposable Camera against those because it has its own niche. That niche is specifically for those who want an easy way to take, process and print unedited pictures in one stop. For that, this app is superb.
