Why is King Kong so angry? Simply put, he is in love with a human woman and thousands of little warriors want to kill him. I think I would be a little upset as well. Lucky for King Kong, he has help from players who assist in defeating the armies who seek his destruction. Using his snot and other bodily functions as weapons, Kong must battle his way through swarms of foes in an attempt to earn the love of the girl who fears him.

The gameplay is pretty straightforward. Using a finger, players must fling King Kong’s snot towards his enemies to defeat them. This took a little getting used to, but I soon learned how to most accurately defeat the attacking armies. Each level progressively gets more difficult. Levels start out with simple island warriors with spears to armored men with guns and cannons. Similar to Plants vs. Zombies, enemies come in waves with each level containing three waves. Stars and points are awarded depending on how well players do during each level.

I found that the difficulty of the levels advances rather quickly. Luckily floating balloons carrying special weapons, health boosts, and protective snot bubbles provide some help during battles. The balloons must be shot down using Kong’s snot. As points are awarded, upgrades and additional bodily functions can be purchased to better equip Kong for his ongoing war.

The sound and graphics are good and I loved the artwork. However I did find the game to be rather repetitive. I got tired of making the same gesture to attack over and over. I also noticed that the speed of each attack is somewhat limited to the elasticity of Kong’s snot. This means that I was unable to attack as fast as I would have liked to. This could be a user error on my part, but I still think the attacking power and frequency is limited.

Overall I thought this was a fun game. It’s only $0.99 right now so it’s a fair price for what it offers. I thought the gameplay was very clever and it was nice to finally be on King Kong’s side instead of fighting against him like we see in the movies.
