ATOOI’s Knight Fright is a voxel-based roguelike that’s just been released on iOS.

Looking similar in appearance to the Capcom classic Ghosts N’ Goblins, the game has you hopping around on a blocky hill defeating all manners of evil monsters. One step at a time, you have to vanquish the earth of the menacing ghouls, ghosts and goblins that have invaded it.

As a roguelike arcade experience, Knight Fright throws you an endless variety of different levels to platform through and fight enemies in. As you attempt to thwart your foes and rid the land of its demonic curse, the never-ending hordes of monsters will keep coming at you so it’s best to keep your wits about you at all times. There’s no doubt this game has inspiration from the Ghosts N’ Goblins, since one wrong step can also destroy your armour and put you in nothing but your undies, an obvious reference to Arthur from that series.

There are eight different types of levels to play, but it can often end up feeling like more due to the randomness of each stage. It’s also incredible chaotic, with quick movement and fast enemy spawns taking up a large chunk of the gameplay.

Knight Fright is free-to-play on iOS, but makes its money through adverts that appear in-game. To circumvent this, ATOOI has also provided an option for you to buy the full version of the game that will remove adverts and let you enjoy it without any interruption.

With it currently standing at 4.8 out of 5 star rating on the store page, Knight Fright is getting quite the positive reception. No doubt the game has attracted players due to its accessible gameplay and voxel-based graphics.

If you want to play it for yourself, you can download Knight Fright for free from the iOS App Store.
