App Description

This app is developed by Purdue University experts to assist students of entomology in recognizing and identifying the most common insect pests of homes, forests, gardens, health and agriculture. It contains 150 high resolution, photographs of the adult and the immature stages as well the damage symptoms that result. Several common beneficial insects are illustrated and described. Accompanying identification facts are brief descriptions of each insect’s biology, damage and management.
Search by name or browse through the photographs until you find a match. Test your identification skills by taking an interactive quiz of the insects or associated damage as they appear on your screen. Automatic grading will show how you fare.
This app can be used time and time again to hone insect identification skills or prepare students for insect judging competitions. It may be used by Educators, Master Gardeners, Extension personnel, Insect Pest Managers or anyone seeking to identify common insect pests or the damage they cause.
