App Description
This app is developed by Purdue University experts to assist students of entomology in recognizing and identifying the most common insects. It contains 150 high resolution insect photographs together with their common name, order, and family identifications. Accompanying identification facts and photos are descriptions of the insects’ appearance, life cycle, behavior and even information about where to find them.
Search by name or browse through the photographs until you find a match. Test your identification skills by taking an interactive identification quiz of the insects as they appear on your screen. Automatic grading will show how you fare.
This app can be used time and time again to hone insect identification skills or prepare for insect judging competitions. It may be used by educators, beginning students of entomology, hobbyists, Master Gardeners or home-owners seeking an identification of a common insect.
