Co-produced by the Musée du quai Branly - Jacques Chirac and the Royal Academy in London, Oceania will take you on a journey to this continent of water. Avoiding the usual distinction between traditions and contemporary arts, the exhibition paints a portrait of this vast region, from the arrival of the first people on its 25,000 islands to the present day. In the company of co-curators Peter Brunt and Nicholas Thomas, as well as associate curator Stéphanie Leclerc-Caffarel, this audioguide explores the multitude of Oceanian cultures through the prism of common themes such as navigation, exchange, and memory. This tour’s 24 commentaries also give voice to several speakers native to the Pacific region who share their own vision of Oceanian heritage.
