App Description

Rayleigh quotient iteration is an eigenvalue algorithm which extends the idea of the inverse iteration by using the Rayleigh quotient to obtain increasingly accurate eigenvalue estimates.

Rayleigh's quotient method is a variant of the inverse power method for estimating the dominant eigenvalue of a symmetric matrix.

The Rayleign Eigenvalue iPad app enables the entry of 2x2, 3x3 and 4x4 matrices, checks for matrix entry validity and calculates and displays the Rayleigh dominant eigenvalue value.
