Neowiz’s smash-hit turn-based RPG ‘Brown Dust’ was always one of the grandest adventures available on mobile, offering some tremendous visuals and environmental designs to boot, but now it’s been made even bigger and better thanks to a huge new update.

The largest and most exciting addition here is the new tournament mode that’s set to begin on May 30th. This sees the top 128 players on each server battle it out in monthly competitions to take home the title of champion.

What to expect from MU Origin’s April update

+ Universal App - Designed for iPhone and iPad

The 1,000th day since MU Origin hit global stores is just around the corner — so what better time for another update? This April, players can expect fresh content to delve into, including new ways to fight rival players and a new realm to go explore.

First things first, there’s a new clan system to unlock, allowing you to join forces with four other players to take on rivals. Costing 500 unbound diamonds, forming a clan grants you access to Clan Arena and Clan Assault, two player-versus-player options to sate your appetite for competition. Clan Arena pits your five players against another clan of five in a battle to the death. Once one clan is entirely defeated, the fight is over and the rewards are dished out. You’ll receive clan honour points even if you lose, which can be exchanged for rare items at the in-game store, so it’s worth joining in. Then there’s Clan Assault, which takes 64 of the top-ranked clans in Clan Arena and sets them against each other in a tournament. Fight each clan one by one and aim to be the last clan standing for big rewards. Making your job that bit harder is the fact that you can’t depend on buffs, potions or auto-combat during Clan Assault, so you better be on top form. Clan Assault is held on the ninth day of every month.

Huge new update for fantasy RPG Final Blade adds new chapters, costumes, and modes

Posted by 148Apps Staff on March 16th, 2019
+ Universal App - Designed for iPhone and iPad

The hit fantasy RPG Final Blade arrived on western shores last month to much acclaim, thanks in large part to its successful mix of vibrant visuals, rich storytelling, and classic RPG mechanics. Now, the game is set to receive a whopping new update that adds a varied selection of fresh content.

Perhaps the most exciting addition arriving via this update are the 4 new story chapters. Where exactly they’ll be taking us, and what sort of challenges we can expect, still remains under wraps. That being said, we do know that the five new characters we’ll be seeing – Susu, Xuxian, Qingqing, Mengxiao and Fahai – are all entangled in the story of the White Snake.

In terms of loot, these chapters will prove to be a great way of earning that all-important 6-star gear. And if you’re looking for some fresh styles to spice up your wardrobe, the update also adds 4 unlockable costumes. In the mix, you’ve got a bunny girl costume, a school uniform, and two rather unique-looking swimsuits.

Then there’s the new mode, known as Dowha Gate. Here, you’ll be required to employ your best strategies to defend the gate against an overwhelming invasion. While it may initially be reminiscent of the game’s Strategy Defence mode, Dowha Gate comes packing plenty of its own quirks and challenges. And if you do somehow overcome all the odds and find yourself victorious, you’ll be rewarded with a massively powerful 6-star hero.

If you’re yet to take the epic Final Blade for a spin, this latest update just makes it all the more enticing. So I’d recommend heading on over to the App Store or Google Play where the game is available for free.

A quick beginner’s guide to Final Blade

Posted by 148Apps Staff on February 14th, 2019
+ Universal App - Designed for iPhone and iPad

Final Blade was developed by newcomer SkyPeople studio, with help from localisation guru Glohow. After two years exclusively in the hands of South Korean and Chinese players, the game is now celebrating its global launch. Hurrah! But if you’re a Western warrior who’s wet behind the ears, our handy beginner’s guide will help you prepare for the fight.

What is Final Blade?

It’s the latest anime-styled online RPG out of South Korea. There are multiple gameplay modes to get to grips with, a clan system for multiplayer co-op play, and much more.
Collect hundreds of colourful characters – all rendered in equally colourful 2.5D graphics – as you fight your way through each chapter of the fantastical story.

Speaking of, Final Blade’s plot has plenty of twists and turns but can be boiled down to a good-versus-evil epic. The game is set in a magical world, where heroes and villains are squabbling over a sword. Not just any sword, either – one imbued with the power of mythical warriors past. It’s a bit Excalibur or The One Ring. You – the Black Prince – must recruit and command a band of warriors as you attempt to ‘unmess’ the mess this world is in.

Langrisser Mobile preview - Seminal TRPG series conquers touchscreen territory

Posted by 148Apps Staff on January 14th, 2019

Langrisser Mobile is set to finally break the revolutionary TRPG franchise's 20 year silence when it finally makes its way to touchscreens the world over at the end of the month.

The original Langrisser game (known as Warsong in the west) debuted on the Sega Mega Drive in 1991 and went on to spawn sequels on SNES, PC, Sega Saturn and PlayStation 2. However, none of those sequels ever received an offical release outside of Japan, so for many western gamers Langrisser has remained an unknown entity. Until now...

Set to land on iOS and Android devices on 22nd January, Langrisser Mobile is a pocketable spinoff that aims to bring an uncompromised TRPG experience to the palm of your hand. Here’s why fans should be pumped-up about its arrival on phones and tablets.

Ticket to Earth is a game that’s grown on me since its release back in March of 2017. At first I hated it, then I kinda liked it, then I thought it was legitimately great. After developer Robot Circus put out a third chapter to the game earlier this month, I now think Ticket to Earth is probably one of the all-time best mobile games around.

Across the generations, the Langrisser series has done battle with Fire Emblem for control of the tactical RPG throne, and this war is about to spill over into the mobile arena.

Almost two years on from the debut of Fire Emblem Heroes on iOS and Android, developer Zlongame has taken the fight to the Nintendo franchise with the release of Langrisser Mobile in closed beta following a successful soft launch in China during the summer.

The game marks the mobile debut of this tactical RPG titan and it’s pulled out all of the stops in a bid to trump its rival on touchscreen devices. Here are five ways it succeeds…

The story so far...

Five gods built the world of Hermes, but it didn't take long before they were squabbling with each other ownership. After a war between them nearly frazzled the land to bits, the gods thought it wise to lock themselves in magical objects called Soul Stones, where they could do no more harm. Unfortunately, their minion factions continued the fight. They began seeking the Soul Stones in an effort to wield godly powers against their rivals, at the risk of destroying Hermes in the process. Up pops the Albion Knights, dedicated to finding and destroying the Soul Stones to keep the world safe. And who should be within the order's ranks but you, ready to save the day.

5 best iOS games to play on a plane

Posted by Emily Sowden on August 24th, 2018

Some of you may absolutely leap at the chance to climb onboard an aeroplane. Some of you may not be too thrilled at the idea of flying, but will get on with it without much fuss. Some of you may be paralysed with fear, like me, from the moment you step in the airport.

However you handle flying, this is a handful of games you really shouldn't be without. I mean, it's not the end of the world if you don't have them, but they're good fun and a good distraction for those less tolerable of air travel – trust me.

Knights Chronicle guide - Everything you need to know about the August 9 update

Posted by Campbell Bird on August 8th, 2018

It seems like every two weeks, we can expect some new and exciting things to come to Knights Chronicle. In the last update, there were some nice quality of life features added to the game, but aside from a couple new heroes, not anything huge to shake the game up too much.

This upcoming update, which should hit within the next 24 hours, promises much more than that. Balance changes to heroes, a whole new game mode, and–of course–some more heroes to gush over. See below for more details:

Knights Chronicle guide - Everything you need to know about the July 26 update

Posted by Campbell Bird on July 25th, 2018

It's only been about a month since Knights Chronicle released and we're about to see our third huge update. The 1.1 release brought us the top tier attacker Morrigan along with some much-requested moves to make the game friendlier for free players, and the update that dropped just a week later added things like Haspiel Assault and the Taiyo Advent dungeon.

This latest update isn't quite out at the time of this writing, but it promises quite a few more goodies for Knights Chronicle players. See below for what some of these things might be:
