Everything you need to win in Scorcher for iPhone and iPad

There's no denying that Scorcher from Radiangames is a difficult game. It's the sort of game where, when you first start playing, you're going to die over and over and over again. There's a chance that those repetitive deaths are going to put you off from going deeper into the game, and that would be a real shame.

Which is where this article comes in. In it we're going to break down the strategies you're going to need to always be posting the highest scores. Watch the walls

The walls are really your biggest enemy in Scorcher. While you can get away from everything else if you know what to do, careening into the side of the canyon is going to do some damage.

It's key to get your moves right when you're jumping over the giant worms - it's all well and good leaping in the right direction to survive the worm, but if you land on a wall then all of your hard work is for naught.

Hit the sharks

It's not super clear, but hitting the small creatures that are also dashing along the canyon floor is a good thing to do. There are often challenges, or unlocks, that you can only complete if you hit a set number of the tiny critters.

You can also repair your ship by eating sharks. When you've taken a hit, a damage meter appears at the top of the screen. Snaffle down that number of sharks and you're going to see your health climbing back up to full.

Look out for power-ups

They're quite rare, but if you do spot one it's a really good idea to try and pick it up. Often they'll give you a distance boost that can come in really handy when you're trying to unlock the next level.

There's very little risk when it comes to the power-ups. You just need to make sure that you're not going to smash into anything deadly when you're trying to pick one up. Hit them and you'll see your scores starting to head in the right direction.
