The coveted prize is only awarded to the games that you think are the cream of the crop, and come the end of the year every game of the week award winner will be vying to become 148App's reader's game of the year. If that isn't incentive, well I don't know what is.

There are a number of different ways for you to cast your vote. You can leave a comment on this article letting us know which game you'd like to win. Powerless is the winner of this week's 148Apps game of the week award

Posted by Harry Slater on August 28th, 2018

Well, we've run the numbers, and we can now reveal that this week's game of the week, as voted for by you, the readers of 148Apps, is Powerless by Narratio. It actually was a close run thing this week, but we sent the figures to Strasbourg and the independent panel of experts there verified our choice. Seriously, that happened.

Powerless is a narrative experience focusing on a world where the power has been shut down. It's got a lot of really interesting stuff going for it, and we reckon it's a deserving winner of the shiny and hypothetical award we hand out every week.

Bendy in Nightmare Run is the deserved winner of our game of the week award

Posted by Harry Slater on August 21st, 2018

Normally we play these announcements out a little but, acting like the vote was close, or that there was some tension among the official panel of judges in Strasbourg about the final decision. Not this week though, because this week we have what one might call a runaway winner.

And that winner is Bendy in Nightmare Run, a game that's all about running away from terrifying cartoon creations that are trying to eat you. And throwing anvils at them. Any game where you can throw an anvil at someone is good in our book.

But there's much more to the game than just chucking heavy metal objects at taxis that have come to life. A lot more, actually.

It's up to you to decide which of these 5 games deserves to win our game of the week award

This week's game of the week is the stealth-tastic Sneak Ops

Posted by Harry Slater on August 14th, 2018

Well it was a tight one this week, but after a count, a recount, and a harried phone call with the game of the week administration in Strasbourg, we can now reveal that the winner of this week's game of the week award is midcore stealth banger, Sneak Ops.

The game sees you making your way through a maze-like structure, hiding from guards, laser trip-wires, and the roving eyes of sentry cameras. It's the stealth game with all of its frippery peeled back, and quite frankly it's pretty darn wonderful.

But why do we think it deserves to win our game of the week award? Not that it's up to us, but there's a damn good reason it's clearly resonated with so many of you.

Numbers and monsters RPG Math and Sorcery has won our game of the week award

Posted by Harry Slater on August 8th, 2018

We've counted up all the votes, sent them off to the court of arbitration in Strasbourg and had them vetted by an independent panel of retired judges and this guy we know who said he was real honest. I tell you all of this so when I announce the winner of the game of the week award, you know that the result is infallible.

It's Math and Sorcery, by the way. A game all about, wait for it, Math and Sorcery. But don't let that get you down, because there's so much to enjoy in both the mathematical and dark-arts departments here that it'd be churlish to complain.

The winner of this week's game of the week award is Rowdy Wrestling

Posted by Harry Slater on July 24th, 2018

We've run the numbers. We've run the numbers again, and we've run the numbers one final time, and we can now reveal which of these five games has won our highly coveted game of the week award. It's Rowdy Wrestling. Sorry, we don't do fanfare around these parts.

The game is a brilliant arcade blast of crunching nonsense that sees you duking it out against burly men in order to be crowned the champion. And sure, that might sound like it's been done before, but trust us when we say that there's a lot more going on here than that.
