10Tons Xenoraid is out today on the App Store, bringing some high-speed space action to your mobile gadgets just in time for the weekend. The company's last premium title, another sci-fi game titled Neon Chrome, did quite well for itself, so hopefully Xenoraid will be following in its predecessor's footsteps.

Xenoraid is free to download, although you'll need to pay for a $4.99 in-app purchase if you want to gain access to the full game. If you want to try before you buy, though, you'll have access to ten missions and one of the survival missions, though you'll have to sit through some video ads. Once you unlock the initial IAP, you'll get the full set of missions and all three survival campaigns.

Xenoraid is an old-school space shooter that also manages to bring some fresh takes to the genre. Originally appearing on PC and consoles, Xenoraid's levels are procedurally generated, and the squad system adds some strategic elements to the game that are sure to keep you on your toes. It definitely lends a more cerebral spin to the space fighters you may be accustomed to.
