The zombie game everyone's been waiting for finally launches this spring

Well, it's come down to this, folks. The next, highly anticpated installment of the Zombie Gunship series is finally launching this May. Zombie Gunship Survival puts players in the seat of an AC-130 aircraft to mow down the zombie horde in a fresh, scenario-based twist on the zombie shooter genre.

Combat is completely air-based, but as you progress you'll be able to build up your weapons arsenal and even construct an airbase that doubles as a shelter for the survivors you rescue along the way. Limbic explained in the initial announcement that weapons upgrades will allow players to shape their strategy to their will, creating a more personalized experience.

Previous Zombie Gunship games were very popular, and highly praised for their polished shooting mechanics. They did, indeed, manage to craft a super polished mobile FPS. If you can't wait until May to play Zombie Gunship Survival, you'd do well to try out one of the previous games. Barring that, though, there's a brand new gameplay trailer you can watch above.
