SpongeBob SquarePants: Battle for Bikini Bottom - Rehydrated came out this week on iOS, and it seems like a pretty solid platformer with a Banjo-Kazooie-style collection-based progression system. You play as SpongeBob, obviously, as he tries to clean up Bikini Bottom after his nemesis Plankton unleashes disobedient robots all over the town.

We didn't get our hands on the game until yesterday, so in lieu of a review, the video above should give a good impression of how the game plays and performs. Playing on an iPad Pro (2018), the game presents no technical issues and there's plenty of screen space to view the action, though the on-screen buttons--particularly those that appear situationally--can be easy to press by accident.

For those wondering, the game does have controller support, and it works flawlessly. It even makes the on-screen buttons disappear, making it look and feel just like its PC and console counterparts.

If you're looking for a solid 3D platformer, SpongeBob SquarePants: Battle for Bikini Bottom - Rehydrated seems like a worthy pickup. This is particularly true if you're a dedicated mobile gamer with a controller handy. If you're not into collect-a-thons or the SpongeBob-verse though, you may want to look elsewhere.
