Play soccer like never before with the release of Goalscorer, out now on iOS and Android

+ Universal App - Designed for iPhone and iPad

SG Organisations has announced the release of their latest open beta of a retro-style soccer crossed-with-chess title called Goalscorer. This latest ‘Training Edition’ version of the game sees players aiming to score as many goals as they can by promoting their pieces to the end of the board and capturing the opponent's team, but there's a lot more to it than that.

Each of your team is a youth player, pro, or star, and has their own kit number. This is the same with the opposing team, however, you don’t get to see what the numerical designation is of many of your opponent’s pieces, and their locations change places at the start of each game. So, when your pro captures another piece, you get an outcome based on that piece’s position in their team, which can either be good or bad.

Defense Derby Guide - Expert strategy tips for defeating bosses and spending currency

Anyone who has played Defense Derby since its recent launch have probably noticed there is a lot more to it than your standard tower defence. Even with a few matches under your belt, there is always room for improvement, and we’re here to offer a hand with a few useful tips.

Complete your daily tasks

If you want to be successful you need to continuously recruit new units in order to keep increasing everyone's power, so make sure to stay on top of your daily jobs. Each day you can get 600 Cubics simply by logging in and playing games as normal, and this only takes about ten minutes tops. Add the 1,000 from Weekly quests, and you get 52 units per week. Throw in those Missions as well, which are slightly more of a hassle since you need to hope for specific bosses, and you will be racking up those artefacts for their passive bonuses.

Krafton gives tower defense a huge facelift with Defense Derby

It would be fair to say that a genre of games that isn’t in the spotlight often is the humble tower defense. In a world of AAA shooters and expansive open-world options, they are easy to overlook as they lack that hook that grips you. This is about to change, however, as Krafton is reinventing the category with Defense Derby.

Don’t just throw money at the problem

One of the most integral features of Defense Derby is the betting system, which you will encounter in the eponymous Derby Mode. Four players will be quasi-battling against each other to see whose tower can be the last one standing. So, how do you defend a castle? With troops, lots of them, but these fickle fighters only go to those who win at auction.

Barring your hero, two initial fighters, and one after each boss wave who will join you from your deck, your ranks will only swell through some good old betting. After each round, one unit will be drawn from a player's deck, and everyone will need to put up Derby Chips to try and buy them. The highest wins as you would imagine. Sounds simple, but this generates some of the most intense mental battles.

With the world currently gripped in football fever, indie developer Bachey has taken advantage and released its latest sports game, Board Soccer. In the spirit of the 2022 World Cup, players will be able to pick from more than 50 countries to take to the pitch.

Designed to call back to the retro soccer games of youth, Board Soccer sees all your plastic players stuck in place by springs, moving the ball around by how forcefully you ping them. Set in a haunted school dorm where players must stave off the attacks of a ghoulish Dream Hunter, Haunted Dorm is the nerve-wracking, horror-themed tower defence game from indie developer, Mihuan. Released on the app stores this February, Haunted Dorm has been gaining a steady following thanks to its original take on the tower defence genre, which departs from the standard button clicking mayhem we’re so used to, to deliver a more chilling experience.

Here are five reasons why we think it’s worth a try, if you dare..

A genuine fright

The origins of Haunted Dorm began with a nightmare suffered by its producer, Meiyu Lei, in which a ghost was trying to enter his home. After a futile attempt at staging resistance, the ghost eventually managed to break in.

Stunt-riding motorcycle app, Wheelie King 4, has just received a big new update

Wheelie King 4 is a stunt-driving motorbike game that has been around for a few years now, and is still going strong. A massive new update has been released recently, breathing some new life into an old classic.

In a lot of motorbike games, a slight collision with a car will gently bounce the bike away to continue riding, and skidding 50 feet down the road won’t do a thing, simply pick up the bike and off you go. Wheelie King 4 however takes a more realistic route; simply drifting too much will result in the back tyre blowing out.
