App Description
Santa Fe New Mexico based photographer Brian Edwards has abroad range of photographic interests that range from has been travel and street to landscape photography and many are motivated by an interest in social topographies and how these can be depicted visually. Editions of Précis will include street, landscape, portrait, and travel photography and will also present his platinum-palladium and albumen prints. Photographing since the early 1980s, he also studied at the University of California San Diego, the College of DuPage (Glen Ellyn, Illinois), and at Santa Fe Community College, where he studied Documentary Photography and Advanced Black and White (film) Photography with Norman Mauskopf. Brian also studied studio lighting and portrait photography at the Santa Fe Workshops with Doug Merriam and David Robin where he also studied advanced platinum printing with Christopher James.
His work has appeared in Landscape Photography Magazine and was included in the recent exhibition Through the Lens: Creating Santa Fe at the New Mexico Palace of the Governors and published in the associated book (Mary Anne Redding and Krista Elrick, editors, Museum of New Mexico Press, 2008). His platinum-palladium work was recently included in a group exhibition (The Alternative Approach) at the Kiernan Gallery in Lexington, Virginia. This year, his work on the New Mexico State Fair Portrait Project will be exhibited three times in various New Mexico galleries and venues, including Santa Fe University of Art and Design, Marion Center for Photographic Arts. His work also appears in Vogue Italia and is included in the PhotoEye Art Photo Index that includes photographers throughout the world. Brian received a Ph.D. in Economics from the University of California, San Diego.
