3D Mineral can now be played either by elementary students or high school, college students, and adults. When you log into the App you are given a choice of levels. The level for elementary school students contains simpler vocabulary and concepts.

Explore the rugged terrain of this mountain region to find and identify 20 common minerals found in nature. On screen guides are available to help you with mineral properties and classification and to help you systematically identify the minerals in the app. A GPS system with a superimposed topographic map is available to help you find the minerals and show your current location. After you have found all 20 minerals, you will get a URL for a FREE BONUS program called Virtual Miner that runs on pcs and macs. With this program you can drill into rock and search for more minerals! This app works for iPad 2 and later and IOS version 6 and above. Please do not load this app on iPad 1, iPods, or iPhones.
