App Description
Whether you are a teacher who wants to use this App to enhance children’s learning alongside your letters and sounds sessions, or a parent who wants to support your child’s learning of phonics at home, this App has something for everyone!
This Twinkl phonics App is designed to support children in developing some of the key skills taught in Phases 2-5 of the DfES Letters and Sounds Document. Buried Treasure is a game designed to practise blending for reading.
As the child clicks on the pirate, they are given a gold coin. The child has to read the word and decide if it real, or a nonsense word. If it is real, they should drag it to the treasure chest. If it is a nonsense word, they should drag it to the dustbin.
You will see that there are different sets of letters using different sounds and these letter sets are cumulative. You may wish to practise certain letter sets, or practise the whole set.
Please remember to have the latest iOS installed and turn your iPad off mute before starting to use this App!
