About the test
The Life in the UK Test contains 24 questions based on the 3rd Edition handbook – “Life in the United Kingdom: A guide for new residents”. We recommend you buy the handbook. You will need to pass this test as part of your application for settlement or British citizenship. You will need to answer 18 (75%) questions correctly (or more) to pass.
Who has to take the test
Everyone aged 18-65 has to pass the Life in the UK test as part of their application process for British citizenship. The official test will cost £50 to book.
Preparing for the test
We provide excellent free preparation for the official test. You can complete practice questions to get ready for your exam. Our tests cover every single paragraph of the 3rd edition handbook to make sure you don’t miss a single detail. Valid in 2016, 2017 and later years.
Simply complete all life in the UK tests to be ready to pass first time.
In comparison with the official test
Our practice tests are generally harder than the official test, because we would like you to pass first time. The official test is much more likely to contain questions about St Patron days, Fundamental Principles of British Life and other easy questions. We highly advise you to try our latest tests: 41 , 42 and 43. We constantly keep adding new questions to our tests. You are very likely to pass even if you fail our tests due to slight difficulty changes.
