Build your literacy and numeracy skills while you prepare for your heavy vehicle driver licence test and forklift operator’s certificate. Work anytime, anywhere. It’s fun, interesting and free. This app version of the Heavy Vehicle & Forklift pathway on the popular Pathways Awarua site enables you to work offline. You can choose to use the app in ‘guest mode’, or register an account online at pathwaysawarua.com to track your progress.

Pathways Awarua: Heavy Vehicle & Forklift is a collection of interactive modules developed to help learners prepare for the heavy vehicles (truck) driver licence test and forklift operator’s certificate. Modules include finding out about the licence and certification process, and important skills and knowledge like carrying loads safely, weights and dimensions, documentation requirements, and how to drive safely in different conditions. These modules are also designed to support the development of literacy and numeracy skills.

Interactive
The modules are carefully structured. As users move through each module the teaching scaffolds are removed until the learner is more independently using the new skill. Each module includes a sequence of screens, which actively engage the users in learning tasks. The users interact with the content through drag and drop, multi-choice, check-box, highlighter, draw, and open-answer question types.

Own pace and level
Users can freely move between modules to find those that meet their next learning needs.

Tailored feedback
Users receive immediate and customised feedback on their answers.

Progress tracking
Users can create their own account on the Pathways Awarua website to track their progress. Users accumulate points and certificates for questions answered.
