Moe's Notes Hits the iPad as Moe's Notepad

Posted by Ben Harvell on June 3rd, 2010

We enjoyed Moe's Notes for iPhone which offers some unique features for taking rich multimedia notes that include audio, video, images and GPS coordinates and it's now available for iPad.

Moe's Notepad makes the most of the iPad's larger screen by using splitter bars to show different sections of the app that used to be spread across multiple screens. The updated UI allows users to customize the app's display as they wish while retaining the same functionality.

Without a camera in the iPad (although the team behind Moe's Notes believe one is coming) images are taken from the iPad's Photo's App with a number of editing options available within the app itself. Audio editing is also impressive with recording and trimming of audio as well as volume and speed settings available.

All media can be combined into an email and sent as attachments with more streamlined options coming in a future update that could include popular formats such as Evernote or GoogleDocs among others.

Users of Moe's Notes for iPhone should certainly invest in this iPad reworking and those that need a decent note taking tool will be hard pressed to find a more feature-packed alternative.

Moe's Notes is available now for $9.99

By Bonnie Eisenman on November 25th, 2009
Our rating: starstarstarstarblankstar :: ALMOST AWESOME - STILL GOOD!
Awesome Note is a great notes app with some nifty features, like importing from Google Docs. While the implementation isn't perfect and there are some improvements I'd like to see, it's still a gorgeous, elegant replacement for the native Notes app.

Kevin's "Utility of the Week" - Week 3

Posted by Kevin Stout on June 12th, 2009
iPhone & Apple Watch App - Designed for iPhone and Apple Watch, compatible with iPad
Our rating: starstarstarstarhalfstar :: USEFUL :: Read Review »

This is week three of my weekly choice of a utility (or non-game) that will help turn your iPhone into the perfect pocket companion. My week one and two choices were Groups and Put Things Off, check out the links to read their reviews and the following links for the Utility of the Week posts: Week 1, Week 2. This week my choice is Stick It, similar to last week's choice of Put Things Off, Stick It is also a sort of to do or task management app but can be used in addition to a to do app instead of replacing one.

Stick It allows you to create sticky notes as your wallpaper. This can be useful in all sorts of ways and the choice is completely up to the user. Some specific ways I have used it so far is as a shopping list, my day's plans, and simply as decoration. Once you've created your wallpaper of sticky notes it becomes the quickest way to give yourself reminders... simply bring up the locked screen whenever you'd like to check your notes.

Check out my review of Stick It here. It's currently on sale for $0.99. Suggest an app for my Utility of the Week award at our forum here.

Kevin's "Utility of the Week" - Week 2

Posted by Kevin Stout on June 5th, 2009
iPhone App - Designed for iPhone, compatible with iPad
Our rating: starstarstarstarblankstar :: SPEEDY :: Read Review »

If you didn't catch my post last week, I'm going to be picking one non-game app a week that turns my iPhone into a device that helps with everyday life. Last week my choice was Groups, check out the post here.

My pick for this week is Put Things Off, the to do app by Pocket Jam. This is a basic and sort of stripped down version of a to do app - making it incredibly simple and amazing speedy. For $2.99, I would suggest this app for any iPhone user who wants a to do app without complexity. It's still a debate, but I will probably use this app instead of Things (my review on that is coming eventually) once the developer adds tags to Put Things Off (which he told me was coming eventually).

Check out the review of Put Things Off here. And suggest an app for next week's utility here!
