Spellbinders is a free to play multiplayer game that's not unlike Clash Royale. You're duking it out against another player in an arena, and spawning units to fight for you using a rechargable energy system. Sound familiar?

Now, if you're looking to win more times than you lose without spending any actual cash, you've come to the right place. Read on for a few tips on how to spend your limited gold wisely.

Prioritise your Titan upgrades

Spellbinders pushes you right from the get go to buy single-use power charges, mana charges, and units to help swing the tide of a single battle in your favour.

We recommend that you use these sparingly, and instead focus on Titan upgrades, which permanently increase your mana capacity and hit points.

When buying consumables, buy in bulk

It's really easy to buy a single mana or power charge from the main menu but the ability to buy them in bulk at a discounted rate is cunningly hid in another menu.

While you won't get a gigantic discount by buying 50 or 100 charges, saving up for a bulk purchase of 300 can save you a whopping 600 gold.

Spend heavily at the end of the week

Spellbinders has a league system that rewards players for their performance in matches over the course of a week. If you want to get in on some of this action, you may want to spend some gold to give yourself an advantage.

Considering the top prize is 100 runes and 1,000 gold, it's definitely worth spending a few hundred gold to help you get to the top spot.
