Endless Treadmill is a new endless runner out right now on iOS and Android with a unique and hilarious premise.

You play as a variety of different gym-goers who struggle to remain steady when running on the treadmill, so you have to tilt your device to prevent them from toppling over.

There are a number of different challenges to complete which earn you coins to purchase new characters and locations to run in, but the real focus is on beating your own and other's high scores.

We spoke to David Saf, Sales Director at Heartmade Entertainment, about what sets Endless Treadmill apart from all of the other endless runners, the challenges faced during development, and the plans for future updates.

What do you think Endless Treadmill offers that you can’t get from any other title on the App Store?

"There are many endless runners in the App Store - some of which even have the same name. I don't think any of these games have the same level of quality in terms of music, gameplay, graphics, and animations - it's the complete package.

"We've designed it so that it's a complete time-sink - in a good way. It's really addictive.

"Most similar games on the App Store require you to complete a tutorial before you can even start playing but Endless Treadmill doesn't need one. You only need to learn to tilt your iOS device."

What challenges did you face during development, and how did you overcome them?

"The biggest challenge was figuring out how to increase the speed while ensuring that the act of remaining in balance isn't too difficult.

"To achieve this the developers used mathematical calculations to increase the difficulty gradually enough that it's not overwhelming.

"This results in a far more addictive game as you have to keep playing to improve your skills and try and beat your previous high score."

Which part of Endless Treadmill are you personally the most proud of and why?

"I'm proud of the fact that we managed to develop such a unique game within a crowded genre - and it's genuinely amusing.

"I also believe the level of quality in the visuals and animation really sets it apart."

Do you have anything planned in terms of future updates for Endless Treadmill and, if so, can you give us any details of what these might include?

"We began working on updates the moment Endless Treadmill was uploaded to the App Store. We are working on game performance and plan to add new treadmills, levels, and well entertaining characters.

"We have plenty of ideas in the works to improve Endless Treadmill but, most importantly, we require feedback from our players to really bring the game to the next level in future updates.

Have you any plans to bring Endless Treadmill to any other mobile platforms such as Windows Phone?

Endless Treadmill is out right now in the App Store [download] and Google Play [download] and we are working on a Windows Phone version.
