In case you missed it last night, Angry Birds Star Wars (iPhone $0.99), (iPad $2.99) was released at midnight. Action Puzzler Bitter Sam Announced

Posted by Jason Wadsworth on February 24th, 2012

Developer Moon Active has official announced the upcoming release of their first title, Bitter Sam, a new physics-based action puzzle game. Born loser Sam has lived a rough life and has every reason to be bitter. Especially since he's now been kidnapped by a mad scientist and dropped down a bottomless pit hanging from a rope in search of crystals.

When released, the game will include 100 levels making up 5 different worlds of tilt controlled descents with tons of obstacles, power-ups, and unique graphics. As players tilt their device, they will guide Sam on his rope left and right to avoid dangers and collect crystals through each level.

Bitter Sam will take the plunge on March 15th when the game launches in the App Store. No word yet on how much this titles will cost, though. Still, players won't have long to wait to find out and they can be helping the embittered little hero soon.

Dark Legends Teaser Trailer Released

Posted by Jason Wadsworth on February 16th, 2012

It's a little bit dark, it's a little bit sexy, it's the first teaser trailer for the upcoming MMORPG, Dark Legends. This MMMORPG (mobile massively multiplayer online role playing game - you heard it here first, folks --Ed.) centers on secret factions of vampires, werewolves, demons, and the humans trying to exterminate these undead threats. The player plays a recently awakened vampire under the direction of the vampire that turned them in a fight for survival against the human mobs that have recently been alerted to the existence of the undead.

The trailer doesn't reveal much in the way of gameplay, but it does set a certain tone for the upcoming game. Dark Legends is being developed by Spacetime Studios, who also developed the critically acclaimed MMOs Star Legends and Pocket Legends. Dark Legends is set for release sometime in the first quarter of this year for iOS, Android, and Chrome. Take a look at the teaser trailer below to get an idea of what's in store.

Wesley Snipes Jumps From Prison to iOS

Posted by Blake Grundman on August 8th, 2011

Wow, just when you thought Blade couldn't be any craftier, its currently incarcerated star is making an appearance on your iOS platform of choice.  Lapland Studio is proud to announce that their upcoming partnership with action star Wesley Snipes is finally coming to fruition, in the form of the upcoming 3D adventure game Julius Styles: The International.

Check out the title's debut sizzle reel below:

Supposedly Snipes, who the game's main character just so happens to bear a striking resemblance to, has been crucial in the game's development process.  He even went as far as to provide the developer with actual character design direction and even key concept material.

How this can all be done from the comfort of a jail cell is beyond me, but this exciting new chapter in the star's career will start on August 11th and promises to span several episodic volumes.  It certainly has my interest, but really, with such scintillating dialog as "I live in the shadows," and "Shadows are dark places,"  I don't know how anyone couldn't be instantly hooked.

Starfront: Collision Gameplay Trailer

Posted by Timothy Smith on February 8th, 2011

Gameloft has finally released a gameplay trailer for their highly anticipated real time strategy title, Starfront: Collision. They also announced that the title will be available for purchase via the App Store on February 10th. This is great news because Gameloft has been pretty hush-hush with the title since its initial announcement. I was beginning to worry that we might not see the title for months. Thankfully that isn't the case, and all of the die hard strategy fans can now sleep better at night knowing this title will soon be theirs to command.

Welcome to planet Sinistral, where rare Xenodium crystals are coveted by a human mining conglomerate called the Consortium. However, they are not the only ones after the rare mineral. The Myriad, an indigenous race of aliens, is addicted to Xenodium and will do everything they can to prevent the Consortium from plundering their resources. To add to the chaos, a sentient robot race called the Wardens is trying to turn the war in their favor. Whose side will you choose?

This Starcraft "inspired" app features three factions struggling to obtain a rare resource on the planet Sinistral. The Consortium (aka humans) are mining Sinistral for precious Xenodium crystals, but the native Myriads (aka aliens) aren't keen on giving them up. To add to the chaos there is another race known as the Wardens (aka psychotic robots) who are bent on destroying everyone. The game will have multiplayer in the form of "massive" 4-player local and online battles. The trailer shows off some very nice graphics, and the framerate seems smooth even during intense action scenes. The trailer also showcases a short segment of actual hands-on gameplay, and from what I can tell, the interface looks fairly intuitive. Hopefully, Gameloft has nailed the interface because a lot of fans have been waiting for a definitive iOS real time strategy game.

It is sad that the game only supports 3rd and 4th generation devices, but I'm sure it was hard enough for the development team to squeeze out an acceptable level of performance during heavy combat on current devices. With only three more days until the official release, we won't have to wait long to find out if Starfront: Collision lives up to all the hype.

Vanquish: The Oath of Brothers Trailer

Posted by Robert Corra on January 15th, 2010

It's not surprising that Gamevil, makers of the Zenonia and Hybrid: Eternal Whisper series, would have another action RPG up their sleeve. What is eye-catching, however, is the art style of their new title, Vanquish: The Oath of Brothers. Billed as an "Artisitc Action RPG", Vanquish features striking ink and wash painting graphics.

An initial teaser trailer of the game was released, and the presentation is indeed very stylish. Not much of the game itself can be seen, except for a brief glimpse of side-scrolling fighting on horseback. You can view the trailer below...

Along with the new trailer, Gamevil has put out a call for 25 beta testers. Anyone interested can apply on the Gamevil website. All submissions must be received before midnight January 17th.

HYBRID: Eternal Whisper Trailer Released

Posted by Bonnie Eisenman on July 16th, 2009

Gamevil has just released a new teaser for their upcoming game HYBRID: Eternal Whisper, which is set to release in the US App Store this Fall. The product of the same team behind the amazing RPG Zenonia, HYBRID has a lot of promise. Gamevil's calling HYBRID a "a new breed of stylish action adventure," and it looks like it'll focused more on combat and special moves than on a storyline. There will be 150 levels, a complex storyline, and plenty of challenge. If Zenonia's success and level of polish is anything to go by, HYBIRD should delight the hardcore gaming crowd.

Gamevil doesn't have a huge App Store presence on this side of the ocean yet (their only games with English localizations are Zenonia and Baseball Superstars) but from what I understand, they've got a solid presence in Korea. Like their other two US releases, HYBRID will be a port from a popular Korean title.

Rolando 2 Teaser Trailer

Posted by Bryan Barletta on May 6th, 2009

The Rolando 2 website continues to reveal more information about the game as we get closer and closer to the launch of the title (Considering the game hasn't been released yet or given an official release date, it's safe to assume that each day that passes is at least one day closer to the launch of the game.) Since we last had a chance to take a look at ngmoco's Rolando 2 website, five of the locked Rolando's down bottom have been revealed and as of today a teaser trailer for the game has gone live (You can watch the trailer below!)
