Send A Greetings Card With Apple's New Release: Cards

We've seen greetings card services from apps such as Oh Greetings and ThankYouPen, but clearly Apple decided to get in on the act with their latest iOS5 included app: Cards.

Cards lets users create and mail some pretty special looking cards personalized with their own text and photos, all from their iOS device. As is synonymous with the Apple way of doing things, it takes a mere couple of taps and swipes to take a snapshot and send a card to anywhere in the world.

21 designs are available encompassing everything from birthdays to simply 'wish you were here' messages. All cards are then saved automatically so they can always be sent to more than one person. There's even the option of adding GPS data to the card so that the recipient can see the current location of the sender.

Payment is conducted via Apple IDs with cards and postage costing $2.99 within the U.S and $4.99 for anywhere else in the world, excluding relevant sales tax. U.S. sent cards even get a delivery notification and an Apple-designed postage mark.

It's out now for iOS5 users.

Send A Greetings Card Via An iOS Device With Oh Greetings

Posted by Jennifer Allen on August 29th, 2011

I've got a sneaky suspicion that something like Oh Greetings is going to be the next big thing. It's been mooted before by the likes of ThankYouPen and now Oh Greetings has come along offering even more choice to the world of e-greetings via iPhone.

The app is a free app to download with cards costing $3.95 each and the promise of worldwide delivery making it an excellent price indeed. Via the app, users choose their favorite card, enter what they'd like to be written inside it and where to send it. The app currently supports Paypal payments with credit card functionality to be added in a later update for ultimate convenience.

The cards themselves are a varied bunch with something for every occasion from birthdays to father's day or anniversaries. Even belated birthdays are catered for here. Different types are also available with Landscapes, Wildlife and Cartoon/Light Hearted images all for the taking.

Oh Greetings is out now. Give it a shot the next time a celebration is coming up.

Family Photo Sharing With Photogram

Posted by Jennifer Allen on June 1st, 2011

Arriving on the app store just in time for Father's Day comes Photogram, a new photo sharing app that's aimed at family users.

Photogram enables users to create their own invite or card of sorts which can then be delivered to groups of family or friends via email as well as shared via Facebook and Twitter. It means that users can not only show off their photos to others but add a personalized message to them too. Users aren't restricted to one photo at a time either with up to four photos possible to share at a time.

To spruce up the images even more so, users can use one of many original themes created by up and coming artists. These artists range from painters, photographers, designers and illustrators so there should be something for everyone's taste. Each theme will require a monetary fee to download with this revenue being split between the artist and Photogram. Users can even learn more about the artist through the app bio pages if they so wish.

Looking at the screenshots, Photogram looks set to have a fairly homey feel. It looks simple to set up groups and in turn send themed messages to them. There's certainly some great potential with users being able to send birthday greetings, party invites or simply messages informing others of what they've been up to. It might make for a great way of keeping in touch with the extended family for instance. Themes are easily browsed with a range of categories to make it all the more interesting.

Pricing hasn't been announced for the app or the individual themes but hopefully they'll be at a competitive price. Potentially Photogram could make for a great replacement to the humble greetings card or invite.

Take a look at the screenshot gallery for now as Photogram will arrive on the App Store June 16th. We'll be sure to keep on top of the latest news about it.

There's a new app out that enables users to send animated, customized greetings to friends and family, and it goes by the name of Face Up! Greetings.

Face Up! Greetings app offers a quick and easy way of sending anyone a greeting right from your iOS device.

A variety of different backgrounds are available covering all circumstances such as get well soon messages or birthdays. Users can then add a photo from their photo album as well as record a message for the recipient.

Once the message has been created, it's easy to then deliver the message either via email or by uploading to Facebook or YouTube.

Currently, there's also a competition going on with users able to contribute entries to the Hot Salsa Interactive YouTube page and potentially win a 2011 Tesla Roadster car which is a rather nice added extra!

Face Up! Greetings is a free universal app with in-app purchases available.
