I'm not convinced there's any game out there that could capture the joy that comes from clicking in the last piece of a jigsaw puzzle. It's too tactile in its satisfaction for even the rather excellent Ravensburger Puzzle to achieve. However, Ravensburger Puzzle does also circumvent the issue of having to collect up all the pieces and put them back in the box, so that's something. Either way, it's a great app for the jigsaw fiend.
Once an image and size has been chosen, the app takes its users to another screen that looks kind of like a floor in a room, allowing them to start piecing things together. A completed image rests to the side as guidance to what needs doing. It's easy enough to manipulate the pieces with a double-tap, causing them to rotate. Moving around the screen is a matter of holding two fingers to it and dragging. There are puzzle tools to assist as well, either for placing the completed image at the back to provide guidance or automatically completing the outside edge for the player.
Carefully avoiding any space issues or concerns about clogging up a table for ages, it's simple to dip into Ravensburger Puzzle just to piece together a few more puzzle pieces, and it's satisfying, too. For a casual thrill, Ravensburger Puzzle scratches that spot nicely, even if hardened jigsaw fans might wish to be able to tackle 1000+ piece puzzles.
