Suffering from some control issues, God of Light is still quite the delight for fans of light manipulation puzzles.

Puzzles involving bouncing light off mirrors are nothing new, but that doesn't stop God of Light from adding a sufficient amount of class to the concept in order to make it feel more interesting than before. Across 75 levels, players must bounce light from mirror to mirror in order to reach its goal. Along the way are numerous elements that change up the familiar routine, as well as some stylish imagery and an enjoyable soundtrack. It's an endearing game that's only really disrupted by some overly-sensitive controls.

Those controls stem from the manipulation of mirrors. One must tap on the mirror they wish to move around before rotating it in order to get it to the correct alignment. God of Light is fairly sensitive in how it deals with this. Too much so - meaning it's often far too easy to slide or flip a mirror too far, causing the player to take slightly longer to get the shot lined up. God of Light isn't as time-focused as other titles, but it's still a niggle when it happens on every single occasion.

God of Light offers a timer that gauges how large one's score is upon completing a stage, but it's actually a pretty relaxing experience. There's no time limit so players can take their time figuring out what to do next. Helping them out are fireflies that serve as hints, draggable around the arena to see what's going on. These are linked to in-app purchases to help out, meaning they're in short supply so it's worth being aware of possible expensive temptations.

Replayability comes in the form of three stars that can be collected along the way but much of God of Light's fun is simply working one's way through the stages. The game mixes things up, offering increasing challenges such as sliding or teleporting mirrors, as well as black holes, so the familiar routine feels less staid and more appealing.

Beautiful to look at, God of Light hits many of the right spots required of such a title and could be a sure fire hit if those control issues were tidied up.
