NaturalMotion and Zynga brought a lot of real life cars to the table for CSR Racing 2. From souped up everyday rides made by Nissan and Hyundai to supercars produced by the likes of McLaren and Pagani, there really is something for everyone.

Naturally, the first question a lot of gamers have about a title like this is, "How many cars on there?" That's generally followed closely by another: "How do I get my hands on them?"

We've been driving with CSR2 for a while since it was in soft launch first, and we've got some answers for you. Keep on reading and you'll know all the ways you can add some impressive new vehicles to your virtual garage.

Buy them with cash or gold

Going shopping is the easiest and most intuitive way to get a new car. Simply tap the 'Buy Cars' icon in the lower-left corner of the screen and you'll be taken to the dealership, where you can spend in-game cash or gold for new cars. Sort the selection by Tier or by make to narrow down your choices.

You'll notice right away that not all cars are for sale. NaturalMotion says that was an intentional decision, and if a vehicle is actually available to be purchased in real life, you can buy it in CSR Racing 2. On the other hand, limited edition or one-off cars need to be won. They're literally not for sale for any price.

Visit the rare imports dock

Sometimes it's not what you know but who you know. Tapping the 'Rare Imports' icon will take you to a screen with three different levels of shipments to choose from, any of which can provide you with new wheels. Let's break them down:

  • Bronze - These shipments contain two or three items each, and while they generally produce parts, they will drop a car on you every now and then as well. It takes 100 Bronze keys for a shipment, but they're readily available in all kinds of game modes. You also get a free shipment from this level every four hours.
  • Silver - Congrats! You guarantee yourself a new car from this level, and it'll be a rare ride that can fit more fusion parts and provides a Respect Point bonus. Silver keys can be acquired from some limited time events, crew championship seasons and via win streaks in Live Races.
  • Gold - The best of the best. It only take 10 Gold keys for this shipment, though you'll have to do very well at either the crew or Live Race level to secure any. Cars from Gold shipments are always rare and come with excellent bonuses.

Win yourself a sweet new ride

This isn't Pinks, but there are ways you can win new cars as well. One way is to take the boss car at the end of each phase of the single player campaign, but that's a tough test. You'll need a fully upgraded car for that Tier to have a real shot.

The other way to win cars could be easier, depending on whether or not your crew rolls deep. The top crew championship rewards include rare versions of cars, and everyone in the group gets that vehicle in an Oprah-esque scenario ("You get a car! And you get a car!").

Yes, this is dependent on the actions of others as well as yourself, and you'll probably need to play CSR Racing 2 religiously to get into a top crew. But it's one way to get great new cars, and one that shouldn't be overlooked.
