Press ARM to monitor the accelerometer outputs. Monitoring will begin ten seconds after pressing ARM. Monitoring will stop when the alarm is triggered or if you press OFF.

Alarm will sound when sufficient change is detected in the accelerometer outputs. For example, vibrations on the surface upon which the iPhone is resting can trigger the alarm. Amount of change required to sound alarm is set by SENSITIVITY. Adjust SENSITIVITY using + and – buttons.

If SENSITIVITY is set too high, the alarm will not sound in response to the event you’re trying to detect. If SENSITIVITY is set too low, alarm can sound for no apparent reason (due to variance in accelerometer output).

The three numbers at the bottom of the screen are difference measurements for each axis. From left to right they are for X axis, Y axis and Z axis. If SENSITIVITY had been set at or below the largest of the three numbers, an alarm would have sounded.

If you are looking at the iPhone resting flat on a table:
X: Left to right (short iPhone dimension)
Y: Top to bottom (long iPhone dimension)
Z: Up (off the table) to down (into the table)

All units are cm/s2 (centimeters per second-squared).
