"Knowing my Personal Rest Day Calorie Intake has given me faster results"
"The perfect companion to my 5:2 diet"

You may have wondered how we came up with the recommendation that women have 500 calories and men have 600 calories on a Fast Day. We used the rule of thumb that women need 2000 calories and men need 2400 calories per normal day and on a Fast Day you should eat a quarter of a normal day’s recommended calories.

But these normal values are just estimates, to get the maximum out of the 5:2 Fast Diet you should consume a quarter of the calories needed to maintain your particular weight. This value is different for each person because it takes into account your gender, age, weight, height & normal activity level.

Our calculator app will allow you to more accurately work out your Rest Day Calorie Intake and therefore your more accurate Fast Day intake.
