App Description

Since our nation's fight for independence, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers has played a vital role in the development of our country. The first known Corps project in the Baltimore region was the building of Fort McHenry, built in 1799 on a small island in the Baltimore harbor at the time of the Quasi-War with France. It was named for Secretary of War James McHenry.

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Baltimore District, provides design, engineering, construction, environmental and real estate expertise to a variety of important projects and customers. This support spans across Maryland; northern Virginia; Washington, D.C.; West Virginia; Pennsylvania; Delaware; lower central New York; overseas; and across the Susquehanna, Potomac and Chesapeake Bay watersheds. The Baltimore District Civil Works’ missions include: Navigation, Flood Damage Reduction, Water Supply, Environmental Stewardship and Recreation. This smartphone mobile application will provide access to current lake levels, map locations, social media, recreation reservations, weather, contact information, navigation channel maps, and water safety.
