Emotional Intelligence Basics - Vocabulary of feelings
Do you know about emotions?
The Empatico app have the appearance of an ordinary Memory game.
What is a bit special however, is that Empatico is designed to increase children's emotional vocabulary.
Player's task is to click on the tiles and try to find pairs of the emotions found on the tiles. When the player finds a pair he or she is given a clear example of a situation when that specific emotion might manifest - in order to facilitate understanding of it’s characteristics.
Instructions are given in the app for how you as a caregiver or educator can help children navigate the tangled jungle of emotions.
The ability to recognize, articulate and express emotions is important. If you know how to express to others what to think, feel and how you want / don’t want - to be treated, then you assert yourself in a positive way and confidence and self-esteem increase.
Under info in the app there are advice for parents who want to share their child's journey of emotional discovery, on how to reinforce and strengthen the learning initiated by using the Empatico app.
