App Description

The RoofingCalc from Fine Homebuilding is a comprehensive estimating tool that covers all of the materials you’ll need for a roofing job. Estimate the quantity of shingles, underlayment, flashing, vent boots, ridge vent, and roofing nails.

Special sections for new construction and re-roofs. Enter length and width dimensions (for reroof jobs), or count sheets of plywood (for new construction) and convert to bundles of shingles. Extra inputs automatically adjust your waste factor based on shingle type and roof pitch.

Email the material list from your ipad to your roofing supplier, crew boss, or office manager:
- Shingles
- Felt paper or Synthetic underlayment
- Peel-and-stick membrane
- Edge metal
- Step flashing
- Coil stock
- Flashing boots
- Ridge vents
- Roofing nails
Links to pro articles and videos will help you choose the best products and install them right.

Note: This app generates an estimate based on the inputs that you provided. While we are reasonably sure that it is accurate, it can’t hurt to add a bundle of shingles. If you don’t use them now, they may still come in handy for repairs, remodeling projects, or dog houses.
