The Author

Daniella Malfitano is a chef, traveler, and lover of all things food. Her love and passion for food came about at a very early age as a result of her Sicilian family heritage and the fact that she was born and raised in the San Francisco Bay Area.

Daniella studied at DePaul University where she earned a degree in International Studies with a concentration in Food and Culture. After completing her undergraduate studies at DePaul and getting her feet wet at many restaurants in Chicago, Daniella moved to New York to continue her educational experience at The French Culinary Institute. While a student and after graduation she worked at Prune Restaurant and Per Se Restaurant in New York City. Daniella graduated from the French Culinary Institute with a Grand Diploma degree in the Classic Culinary Arts program with highest honors.

You can hear Daniella every week on the syndicated radio program On The House” which is broadcasted nationally by over 300 radio stations. You can also follow her on her PBS food blog entitled Delicious Discoveries: www.pbs.org/food/blogs

And very soon Daniella will be hosting her own cooking show on KIXE public television.

Description

This iPad application features more than a hundred recipes and a large number of videos and step photography of cooking techniques in a special techniques section. In order to avoid overloading the iPad's memory, the videos will not be downloaded permanently on the iPad, but are accessible by a direct link to our data base.

Aside from our usual quality features such as outstanding food photography throughout, the ability to add recipes to a favorite list and to create menus, e-mail functions for recipes, shopping list and menus with dinner invitations, we have added a timer function for all recipes and boosted the flexible shopping list functions by adding key ingredient definitions and photographs.

As a result, this application will have more than 400 photographs. The app can be viewed in imperial or metric measurement units and boasts a resource guide with leads to cooking equipment and specialty food suppliers.
