App Description

A skyscraper is a particularly high and continuously building habitable. Often also called skyscraper buildings that stand out for their height above its surroundings, this last is based on the definition of the Council on Tall Building and Urban Habitat (CTBUH):

There is also a criterion based on height rather popular, placing the lower limit at about 500 feet (152.5 meters). From 1000 feet (about 305 m) is often considered a building supertall skyscrapers. The reason for their construction is usually the most economic
use soil. So many skyscrapers are often found clustered in commercial or residential areas of large cities, where land value is high.

However, in the case of skyscrapers, economic motivation usually exist actually, since the excess height incur costs even higher. In these cases the motivation is purely advertising, as these large buildings, especially if they carry the label "tallest building" (city or country) acquire relevance and visibility, and endow an image of power and economic prosperity their owners.

These groups tend to draw a skyscraper skyline feature of many cities, like New York, Chicago, Shanghai and Singapore.

Great Buildings collect the most significant.

It shows the information for each building, Description, Location (Country-City), Flat Sheet, Type of Service, Postal Address, Cost, Construction Dates, Area, Height Maxima Roof Height, Height Last Plant, Plant Number, and Elevators as several photographs of the building taken from different angles.

Can access the official website if available, as well as to existing information in Wikipedia on each of the buildings.

We see images of buildings that look and zoom in on them to appreciate the different details, and see the position on the map. Similarly we rate our favorites, to access them quickly through different filters.

It also has a slideshow function that allows us to enjoy all the images in a convenient way.

In this first application contains more than 100 buildings that will grow in future releases of the application.

The application is available in 5 languages: English, Spanish, German, French and Italian.
