App Description
33 miners, trapped 688 meters underground for 69 days, in heat that exceeded 35 degrees Celsius; the numbers are intriguing – as are the men who survived this incredible ordeal! Finally freed from their living hell deep in the mine, Los 33, as they’ve come to be known, are true pop culture heroes. They’re bombarded by the media, recognized on the street, solicited from seemingly every direction… But behind the miracle of their being saved, who really are these men that everyone’s suddenly so interested in?
Pimiento and Atelier Rocoto give you the opportunity to unravel the mystery through a photo-report made while shooting “Beyond the Miracle”, a documentary which puts things in perspective by shedding a new light on the events relating to the rescue of the 33 Chilean minors.
Meet four of them, as well as many anonymous heroes who worked night and day to give this tragic story a happy ending. Discover the other side of this drama, that ended on a miraculous note and during which hope rose from underground to the surface of the earth. Photos by Albert Elbilia.
