Did you know that at the Black Forest Open Air Museum Vogtsbauernhof there is a lot more to do and see than looking at old houses?

Allow yourself to be transported into the Black Forest’s past with the Vogtsbauernhof mobile app. This fun and completely free app provides you with lots of information, including video clips, to support three different tours around the museum, thereby allowing you to really get a sense of the Black Forest 600 years ago.

Videos enable you to meet traditional craftsmen and women and learn about their work on days when there isn’t a live demonstration. You can also enjoy finding out about our different kinds of mills independently of the regular demonstration times, or obtain even more fascinating information about our farmhouses and other buildings.

Our younger museum visitors are also very welcome to enjoy the app, together with their families. Wherever you see the museum’s mascot, Sam, children can learn about the past in a fun and playful way.

You’re spoilt for choice with the following three tours to choose from:

Tour 1: From house to house

During this tour, lots of helpful information about the most important buildings and exhibitions in the
Open Air Museum Vogtsbauernhof appear on your display.

Tour 2: Tracing traditional crafts

On this tour, a series of short films introduce you to a selection of the more than 50 craftsmen and
women who are regular guests at our museum.

Tour 3: Around the houses with Sam

The third tour is designed for families with children. Follow the shepherd boy Sam, the museum’s
mascot, around the museum as he visits his favourite places in the Black Forest Open Air Museum
Vogtsbauernhof.
