App Description

CITB is the industry training board, and a partner in the Sector Skills Council for the construction industry in England, Scotland and Wales. We work with industry, for industry, to deliver a safe, professional and fully qualified UK construction workforce.

Our role includes working with employers to encourage training, which helps to build a safe, professional and fully qualified labour force. We believe developing the skills of employees in the construction industry is crucial to the health of the UK economy – that’s why we are working with employers and key stakeholders to make sure our industry has the right skills in the right place, at the right time.

We understand that apprenticeships are the lifeblood of our industry, and we encourage more young people to join our industry and more employers to offer apprenticeship opportunities.

The CITB Apprenticeships App can be used to access the below courses, which use practical industry examples to help apprentices and other workers in the sector to improve their day-to-day literacy and numeracy skills.

*Building with Maths* is an introduction to working with numbers in construction; from the basics of the number system to interpreting data.

*Communicating in Construction* covers the fundamentals of communication, from basic grammar to speaking and listening skills.

A Welsh version of the CITB Apprenticeships App is available and can be used to access the Welsh version of both courses."
