App Description
Kos is the island of healing, the island which pulled humanity out from the vanity created by ignorance and lack of learning. It is the island of Hippocrates, the father of medicine who gave medicine to man and the first hospitals, the first doctors, to the island. The ruins and archaeological finds which have been excavated at various points of the island bring to life memories of a continuous civilisation of over six thousand years. The traces of ancient prehistoric settlements, the ruins of the buildings of classical antiquity, the Hellenistic period and the Roman years, impressive Byzantine and post-Byzantine churches, imposing medieval castles, mosques and minarets alternate with the more recent contemporary buildings.
