App Description

This app was designed for both iPhone and iPad.

It provides for students of oil & gas a tool to graphical analysis of the leak-off test.

In this version (lite) the well is pre-defined @ LOT vertical depth 3000 ft and mud weight 10 ppg.

For a better user experience, these additional features are available on the FULL VERSION:

1. Edit LOT Vertical Depth and Mud Weight;
2. Save/Load data files;
3. Export/Import data files on iCloud Drive, Dropbox, etc;

The full version is recommended for graphical analysis after the performing of the leak-off test in wellsite.

About the Leak-off Test on drilling operations:

A test to determine the strength or fracture pressure of the open formation, usually conducted immediately after drilling below a new casing shoe.
Initially, pumping fluid into the borehole results in volumetric compression of the drilling mud column and elastic expansion of the casing string plus rock around the borehole. As the pressure in the borehole increases, the leak-off pressure (LOP) is reached when the relationship between pressure increase and volume of fluid pumped deviates from linear. This occurs when fluid begins to diffuse into the formation at a more rapid rate as the rock begins to dilate. Generally, a LOT is a test that finishes immediately after LOP is reached.

This app was developed based in existent spreadsheets. There is no comparison with any other software.

Our goal is to create oil & gas applications with the help of experts to share with drilling engineers, technicians, drillers, students and teachers of drilling engineering.

There is no intention to replace the professional softwares.

You can contribute with suggestions for improvements, correcting the translation to english, reporting bugs and spreading it to your friends.
