Unlike other crowdsourcing apps, PokéXplorer is built with community-driven verification features to keep data relevant and useful:
- Found and Not Found verification is only available when user is near the location
- Facebook login required to report new sightings to minimize reporting abuse
- Filter by date, distant, accuracy rating, and Pokémon types
